Alongside a brand new Ahsoka trailer that features our best look yet at Lars Mikkelsen's Grand Admiral Thrawn, Disney has revealed the much-anticipated series will debut on August 23 with a two-episode premiere.
The trailer is packed with action, lightsabers (including the spinning kind used by the Inquisitorius!), multiple mentions of Anakin Skywalker, a tease of Ahsoka and Sabine's rocky master and apprentice relationship, Sabine's fancy new haircut that calls back to Star Wars: Rebels, our first time hearing Ezra speak, space battles, and a ton more.
Baylan Skoll was also a big part of the trailer, and he is being played by the late Ray Stevenson, who sadly died at the age of 58 just a couple of months ago.
As if that wasn't enough, Disney also shared new key art for Ahsoka, which features the beloved character using her lightsaber to seemingly block something off-screen.
Ahsoka will consist of eight episodes and a big focus of these episodes appears to be the search for Thrawn, who will once again be played by Star Wars Rebels' Lars Mikkelsen, and Ezra Bridger. In the finale of Rebels, we saw the pair taken away to some unknown part of space by purrgil (space whales who can travel through hyperspace!).
