Robin is best known as Batman's sidekick, but this has also led to some unfortunate connotations. Many associate the Boy Wonder's mantle with the Caped Crusader. In fact, some fans prefer Batman work alone, seeing Robin as emblematic as the campiness that infected his mentor. Ironically, Robin has grown increasingly dark over the years, with almost all new takes on the hero continuing this trend.
