Icons of horror have come in all shapes and sizes. From the twisted smile of Psycho's Norman Bates to the grim implications of the Billy puppet in Saw, figureheads of horror have helped define everything from tone and genre to story. But even still, nothing could prepare audiences for the image of Pinhead holding the Lament Configuration as he represented the entire Hellraiser franchise. In fact, for many who hadn't ventured down the rabbit hole of one of the most unsettling franchises, many would assume Pinhead would play a much scarier role.
