Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves star Chris Pine wants to return for a sequel. Thankfully, he’s also “pretty confident” it will happen.

During an interview with GamesRadar+, Pine revealed he’s optimistic there will be a sequel to the hit fantasy flick. “I've heard some rumors about it,” he said of a potential sequel. “But I don't know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen.” Asked if he would be happy to return, he replied: “Absolutely.”

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves debuted earlier this year, and saw Pine take center stage as the quick-witted bard, Edgin Darvis. He was joined by Michelle Rodriguez as barbarian Holga Kilgore, Justice Smith as half-elf sorcerer Simon Aumar, Sophia Lillis as tiefling druid Doric, and Regé-Jean Page as the paladin Xenk Yendar. They went up against the villainous Sofina, a Red Wizard of Thay (played by Daisy Head), and also encountered Hugh Grant in a stunning performance as rogue and con artist, Forge Fitzwilliam. Honor Among Thieves was directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.

Of course, Dungeons and Dragons has enjoyed a boost this year, with Honor Among Thieves seeing great critical success, even if its box office returns weren’t quite as good. “I'm just happy it was good," said executive producer Kyle Brink. “The trajectory for D&D movies is going up tremendously. We're happy with the fan reaction and the critical reaction.”

Larian's Baldur’s Gate 3 was also a huge success this year, propelling D&D back into the public consciousness, earning rave reviews and several nominations at this year’s The Game Awards.

Paramount CEO Brian Robbins is certainly open to making another Dungeons & Dragons movie under one conditionL the sequel gets a lower budget. “We've got to figure out a way to make it for less,” he said.

IGN’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves review gave it 7/10 and said: “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves may not be as epic as The Lord of the Rings or as treacherous as Game of Thrones, but there's nothing wrong with being the jokier sibling of the fantasy adventure genre. There's plenty to honor here beyond sticky-fingered thieves, which hopefully is the start of an on-screen universe that only gets stronger as quests continue.”
