HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 has added four new cast members to play some familiar characters from the second game in Naughty Dog's PlayStation series.
Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Spencer Lord (Family Law) have all joined the series. The actors portray the characters of Manny, Mel, Nora, and Owen, respectively.
Manny is one of the new faces players meet in The Last of Us Part II. He will appear in the series as "a loyal soldier whose sunny outlook belies the pain of old wounds and a fear that he will fail his friends when they need him most," while Mel is a young doctor who finds herself "challenged by the realities of war and tribalism."
Nora also works in the healthcare sector, but as a military medic. She faces her own challenges as she struggles to "come to terms with the sins of her past." And last, but by no means least, Owen adds a dash of optimism to the group, though he is "condemned to fight an enemy he refuses to hate" in the post-apocalyptic world.
The recently announced quartet join returning cast members Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, alongside newcomers Kaitlyn Dever, Young Mazino, and Isabella Merced. Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara also recently signed up for an undisclosed role in The Last of Us' highly anticipated second season.
The Last of Us Season 2 will presumably follow the storyline of The Last of Us Part II video game but with additional content from the Lost Levels and a few "radically different" moments. We're still waiting for an exact release date for the show's sophomore season, but HBO previously confirmed it will arrive sometime in 2025.
