Indie game Spiritfarer is about life after death, although not in the typical way that would be expected from a video game. As Stella, players befriend various animal spirits that travel around the world on a boat. However, at a certain point, all good things must come to an end. In this regard, Spiritfarer is about ushering newfound friends into the afterlife once they're ready. It's a much gentler play on the River Styx and ferryman lore, as well as the inevitability of losing a loved one.
