Upon release, The Legend of Korra was regarded as an unpopular sequel to Avatar the Last Airbender. Fans who had grown up watching Aang’s journey to mastering the four elements didn’t appreciate how different Korra was to the young airbending prodigy or the series’ steampunk setting. Although the Legend of Korra has since secured a cult following, the public opinion about the changes it made hasn’t improved.
