The character of Spider-Man has become one of the world's most recognized superheroes thanks to his personality, powers and colorful group of villains. However, without movies and TV, it's unlikely Spider-Man would've reached as wide of an audience. In fact, the films offered compelling stories and crossovers to a larger universe. But before Tom Holland's iteration entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man's first big on-screen appearance was in 2002's Spider-Man, directed by Sam Raimi. The movie gave a solid origin and fantastic portrayals that led to a trilogy following Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
