Sorkin found fame in Days of Our Lives in the 1980s, where she played the eccentric Calliope Jones. She was college friends with Paul Dini, one of the co-creators of Batman: The Animated Series, who was partly inspired by her dressing as a jester for a dream sequence in Days of Our Lives. Sorkin was hired as the initial voice actor for Joker's henchman, and she would play Harley Quinn for decades across shows, video games, and other projects.
