Biographical entertainment is always a sticky subject -- and nowhere is this more evident than in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. A common saying in creative writing is that characters are not people. People are complicated and messy and often do things that are irrational and act against their own self-interest. Characters, on the other hand, need to behave consistently with how they've been written and must fulfill a specific role in a story. Narrative media has a structure that makes fitting the complexities of real life into it very difficult.
