"All Good Things," the original series finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation, was a wild, cerebral ride of big ideas rather than a traditional action-packed series finale. While the episode covered a lot of philosophical ground in the time-hopping epic lessons Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) learned from the eternally mysterious Q (John DeLancie), one particular idea in the episode stands out as the central message of the story, and perhaps for the entire franchise. "All Good Things" was about the value of being open to change, from the micro to the macro.
