Ahsoka is the latest entry in the Star Wars franchise, expanding the period of time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Set nine years after the fall of the Empire, the series is set in the age of the New Republic, wherein the galaxy continued to rebuild following the devastating Galactic Civil War. Re-establishing a democracy in the galaxy, the New Republic became a symbol of hope and peace after so many years of the Empire's subjugation.
