Not much has changed in the world of Futurama since TV audiences visited last. The joke-heavy Season 8 premiere poked fun at Hulu instead of Fox or Comedy Central, but New New York still looked the same and all of the Planet Express crew were accounted for. The ten-year break didn't have an adverse effect on anything -- which was part of the humor in "The Impossible Stream." Professor Farnsworth explained the hiatus as yet another quirk in time, and almost everyone (audience included) was completely unbothered.
