More often than not, the DC Extended Universe (DCUE) has been criticized for being too dark. It was launched bv the movies Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which were the perfect encapsulations of Zack Snyder's signature edgy aesthetic and worldview. The DCEU rarely looked back but occasionally, its grim atmosphere gave way to a sudden burst of light.
