The latest tease for Prime Video’s Gen V is here, and while it isn’t our first look at The Boys spinoff, it is the Redband trailer – meaning it gets to show off some of that gory madness that its predecessor is so well known for.
While The Boys focuses on the eponymous group of vigilantes, The Seven, and the corporate and political players in their orbit, Gen V seeks to expand that world by taking us to Godolkin University, introducing a whole new world of supes. Today’s trailer gives us another look at some of those supes, including one with a particularly gnarly ability of welding her own blood as a weapon, someone with Human Torch-like powers to light themselves on fire, and someone who can shrink themselves down.
The trailer’s introduced by Clancy Brown as Professor Rich “Brink” Brinkerhoff, who trained several big names within The Seven. Other new cast members include Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi, along with a guest starring role from Jason Ritter.
The Boys fans will also recognize a few familiar faces in the trailer: Vought’s Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), politician Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), and Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne), a Zack Snyder-esque director, with A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) set to appear in Gen V as well. The Seven is there in spirit, albeit in the form of a hilariously dramatic ceiling portrait and a bronze Homelander statue.
Gen V will debut with three episodes on Sept. 29, with subsequent episodes debuting weekly on Fridays through Nov. 3.
