Before the live-action movies, Spider-Man: The Animated Series was the bigger adaptation of the Webslinger to an entire generation. Introducing several of his most iconic concepts, characters and especially his villains, involved several elements seen throughout the character's history in the comics. Sadly, there was one foe who didn't make the cut, and he was almost joined in this fate by another well-known enemy of Spider-Man.
