It's been more than ten years since the launch of the PlayStation Vita, an integral addition to Sony's fluctuating handheld lineup. In May 2023, at the PlayStation showcase, Sony gave their audience a glimpse at their in-the-works handheld project: Project Q. Since the initial announcement, Sony has unveiled more details of the new device set to launch later in 2023, now revealed as the PlayStation Portal. While the very name brings to mind the PlayStation Portable, the new remote player shows little resemblance to the homonymous PSP or its successor, the PlayStation Vita.
