The Halloween franchise is absolutely massive, with thirteen films released over the span of about four decades. As such, Laurie Strode and Michael Myers have a long, complicated history. There are a couple of different canonical pieces, and some contradict others. With that said, it can be hard to keep track of every part of the puzzle. But only one Halloween plotline gives Michael Myers the most rational motive.
