Cloud gaming's global landscape is shifting as Nvidia announces that its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, is about to get a little more expensive in Europe and Canada.

In a new blog post, beginning November 1, Nvidia is raising the prices for its Priority and Founders Ultimat subscription tiers. Nvidia notes that if new members sign up for a Priority or Ultimate membership before November 1, they will keep the current pricing for six months. Prices vary depending on the country and how many months you subscribe. Nvidia did not mention in the post that the United States pricing would go up, and in an email sent to IGN, a spokesperson for the company confirmed the pricing for US users will remain the same.

You can check the image below to see the new pricing and which European countries are impacted.

Unlike its competitors, mainly Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce Now offers a Free subscription tier, but it is very limited as those with that tier have a one-hour session length and can only stream games in a lower resolution. In contrast, the paid subscription tiers offer upwards of 4K resolution with RTX enhancements enabled and longer play sessions, with the high-end Premium subscription offering paid players access to a cloud gaming RTX 4080 rig to stream their favorite games.

Nvidia released GeForce Now back in 2015 as a beta, with the full launch coming five years later. GeForce Now's approach is unconventional compared to other cloud gaming services, as GeForce Now's library is based on the games you already own on digital PC game storefronts like Steam and PC Game Pass. Not every game from these storefronts is available on the service, but Nvidia updates the GeForce Now library support weekly.

The announcement comes at an interesting time for Nvidia's cloud gaming service, which has seen some massive strides in recent years. Besides offering access to more powerful servers depending on your membership, Nvidia inked a deal with Microsoft to bring first-party Xbox Games to GeForce Now. GeForce Now is also one of two options where players can play Fortnite on their mobile devices since the native mobile versions were pulled from the App Store and Google Play three years ago.

In our 2023 update review of Nvidia GeForce Now, which we awarded a 7 out of 10, we said, "Game streaming remains imperfect, but Nvidia's service gives a glimpse of the future at a very reasonable price."
