Horror films are a necessary staple to the Halloween season, but in 2023, it will be Thanksgiving delivering the scares to audiences. With the double feature Grindhouse releasing in 2007, audiences weren't quite sure what to expect. Double features had become a thing of the past for the most part — unless there was a drive-in theater nearby. On top of new films from acclaimed directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino — which should have been enough to pique the interest of any film fan — movie-goers were also promised a truly special experience. Those movie-goers were not disappointed as they were treated to a true double feature experience — complete with fake trailers made by other well-known directors in the horror/thriller space. One of those trailers was for a little film called Thanksgiving — a delightfully creepy horror concept in the same vein as John Carpenter's Halloween.
