The fungal outbreak triggering the collapse of human civilization in the acclaimed HBO series The Last of Us offers the surviving characters an opportunity to redefine themselves as they rebuild. One figure who takes full advantage of his second chance is Tommy (Gabriel Luna), the younger brother of protagonist Joel (Pedro Pascal), overcoming a rough patch and relocating to Wyoming, where he finds love and an important role in his new community. And reunited with Joel years after the two brothers separated, Tommy represents a sort of hope that has been forgotten by many of the survivors as they fight to live on in this post-apocalyptic landscape.
