Moon Knight calls down his ultimate in Marvel Rivals

Units are one of the two main currencies in Marvel Rivals, and you can use them on a whole host of cosmetics for your roster of heroes.

In this Marvel Rivals guide, we’ll walk through how to get Units and why you’d want them in the first place.

Units are the free-to-play currency in Marvel Rivals — kind of. There are two main currencies to worry about: Units and Lattice. (There are also Chrono Tokens, but those are for your battle pass, and not really relevant for our purposes here.)

Lattice is a currency you can purchase with real-money, but Units function as the actual currency you’ll need to purchase new costumes and bundles from the shop.

There are four primary ways to get Units in Marvel Rivals:

  • Completing achievement tracks
  • Progressing the battle pass
  • Through events like “Entangled Moments”
  • Converting Lattice into Units

The conversion rate for Lattice into Units is 1:1, so every 100 Lattice ($1) will net you 100 Units.

What can you use your Units on in Marvel Rivals?

A look at the in-game store in Marvel Rivals

Units are your store currency, they’re what you’ll use to purchase every new costume and item that you acquire outside of those from the battle pass, events, or codes.

These costumes come in bundles, which typically include the costume itself, a specialized MVP cutscene, an emote, a name plate, and a spray. That’s a lot of bang for you buck, but it pushes most bundles into the $20 range — with some MCU-inspired costume bundles going for $35 — if you’re purely purchasing them with Units via Lattice.

If you’re looking to get a specific pack, but can’t pay full price, the best thing to do is save a couple hundred Units here or there from the battle pass and other sources. Then wait for a sale — like the one NetEase Games held at launch — and supplement what you’re missing with Lattice. Mercifully, NetEase will let you buy Lattice a dollar at a time, so you can always get the exact amount you need.
