The final season of Star Trek: Picard gave fans of The Next Generation everything they wanted from the reunion of those characters. The story was epic, less a season of television and more a cinematic trilogy of films. However, one element Picard Season 3 lacked that Season 2 had was the sociopolitical commentary Star Trek is known for. Gene Roddenberry created this universe nearly 60 years ago to hold up a mirror to the modern day, and the time-travel story from Picard Season 2 did that incredibly well.
