Somehow, it just turned August, which means one last month of winter discontent and discount content. Today is mostly a day for old gold bundles reduced. Personally, I'd make a beeline for that package deal of 6 Spyro/Crash games on Switch. I'm also all about a Build Your Own 8 Game Resi Bundle and/or paying $23 (!!!) for 18 LEGO games. Because, really, who doesn't love LEGO games?
In retro news, I've made a big cake with a 20 on it for the Atari Jaguar, an impressive-sounding console that barely sold 250K units. What killed this 64-bit big cat? Extensive delays in software development made for a piddling library with few must-own titles. Also, its Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation rivals were better marketed and way cheaper than the Jag's whopping $700 introductory price (1500 clams in 2024). Be that as it may, I still bought one for Alien vs Predator anyway.
