Throughout Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie, it becomes increasingly clear that the story is about female empowerment. Margot Robbie portrays the Stereotypical Barbie, as in the signature white doll with blonde hair that fans have associated Mattel with for decades. However, the icon soon realizes she wants to accomplish more, especially after connecting to her owner in the real world, Gloria.
