There have been Dragon Ball video games for nearly as long as Akira Toriyama has been working on the manga and anime series, but Dragon Ball FighterZ from 2018 helped set a new standard that’s been difficult to top. Primarily a multiplayer fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ covers a wide spectrum of the franchise and benefits from next-gen graphics and hardware that effortlessly translate the series’ trademark heightened combat into a comfortable fighting experience. Dragon Ball FighterZ’s praise is warranted, but it’s also led to certain gaming relics of the past becoming forgotten.
