Longtime Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal has confirmed a live-action Miles Morales movie will happen "someday," but other projects are taking priority first.
Variety spoke to Pascal at the 2024 Oscars Luncheon and asked her for an update on the live-action Miles Morales movie, which she previously revealed was in the works. The former Sony boss asserted that the project is still part of their plans for the growing Spider-Man universe, but two movies will come out before it.
To clarify, when she said “not until we make two more movies,”she meant Beyond the Spider-Verse and the live-action Tom Holland film. https://t.co/3tmEwEctwB

Chris Miller, who worked on the Spider-Verse franchise with his creative partner Phil Lord, quote-retweeted the interview segment to clarify the two movies being made first are Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is the third and final part of the animated Miles Morales trilogy, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 film.
It sounds like Spidey fans will have to wait a while before they see Miles Morales swing into live-action, as Beyond the Spider-Verse has yet to set a release date. Sony previously slated the trilogy-capper for 2024 before removing it from its release schedule entirely due to the impact of the dual Hollywood strikes last year.
Similarly, Disney had barely even confirmed the fourth Spider-Man film when reports revealed the meetings that had been happening were put on hold by the strike. Holland told Variety "multiple conversations" had happened, but the project was still in "it's very, very early stages" when those meetings were paused.
Madame Web is the latest Spider-Man spin-off from Sony, and first reactions have not been entirely positive. IGN called the female-led Marvel movie "mediocre," noting that it "has the makings of an interesting superhero psychological thriller" but ultimately "fails the talent and the future of its onscreen Spider-Women."
