Although they are collectively called the Tailed-Beasts or the more derogatory Chakra Beasts, they are massive chakra forms that can do enormous damage. They have been captured, placed into humans, and extracted various times throughout the anime as a tool in powerplayーbut they do each have personalities, as well as several tails, or something else, that show which one they are.
