When Kagurabachi debuted in Shonen Jump, it received an absurd amount of attention. People hyped it up as the next manga classic; it would earn "Kagurabachillion" dollars and become a hit anime. Surprisingly, the manga is living up to the hype (to a reasonable degree) and doing well in Shonen Jump. However, the joke was about more than how good this series would be. It was about how often Shonen Jump likes to cancel new manga early in their run (less than 30 chapters). Despite this tendency, readers keep their hopes high whenever a promising new series enters the magazine.
