Mortal Kombat 1 is a highly anticipated entry in the legendary franchise for many reasons, not least of which is the bold new direction the story is heading. After becoming the new God Of Fire in Mortal Kombat 11, longstanding protagonist Liu Kang reset history in an attempt to create a new timeline free of its previous hardships. Mortal Kombat 1 will be the first game set in this new timeline.
