Spoiler Warning: The following article features spoilers for one of the villains appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Emma Corrin's mystery villain in Deadpool & Wolverine, known as Deadpool 3 until recently, is confirmed to be the evil twin sister of X-Men leader Charles Xavier, or Professor X.
Spotted by Culture Crave, Deadpool & Wolverine's official copyright has listed Corrin's name against Cassandra Nova, a formidable X-Men villain who, of course, has a particular grudge against her twin brother.
Detecting her evil while still in the womb, Charles used his psychic abilities to try and kill Cassandra but didn't realise she lived until years later. Growing as a mass of cells on a sewer wall, Cassandra grew herself slowly but surely until she emerged and wreaked havoc upon the world.
Fans have long suspected Corrin to play Cassandra after a shot of someone's bald head appeared in the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, lining it up with Corrin's mysterious role.
Arriving on July 26 as the only Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine will unsurprisingly see the two titular characters taking on all manner of baddies from Marvel multiverse history.
It therefore promises plenty of cameos. "What blew my mind also is how easy some of those cameos have been," director Shawn Levy said in 2023. "People love Deadpool. People love Ryan [Reynolds]. Thankfully, people also seem to like my work. They know that Ryan and I are in a groove of creative brotherhood that is unique and seems to be working."
