The original Final Fantasy XIV launched back in 2010, and over the last thirteen years, it's evolved into one of the most polished and popular MMORPGs on the market. Its fifteen-dollar-a-month price tag doesn't deter players, not to mention purchasing expansions, as there's more than enough content to make subscribing to the world of Eorzea a worthwhile purchase. It didn't start that way, though, as the base Final Fantasy XIV was met with negative reception and ultimately shut down to make way for the updated, positively received A Realm Reborn.
