The live-action adaptation of One Piece has a lot to do if it's successful. There are over 1070 episodes of the anime to adapt and counting. The Netflix series can't churn out new content every week like its predecessors. It also can't afford to take time retelling everything lest the actors all age out of their roles. This series has to balance conciseness and faithfulness to relay this expansive narrative as best as possible. With the first season of the Netflix series available for streaming, audiences can get a general idea of what strategies were used to cover enough of the story in as little time as possible. As long as One Piece is, its story arcs can be relayed much faster than people realize.
