The Walking Dead and Invincible star Steven Yeun has reportedly left Marvel's upcoming anti-hero team up film Thunderbolts.
According to sources speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Yeun will not feature in Thunderbolts despite being all but confirmed to be playing Sentry, who is perhaps the most powerful but most dangerous superhero in all of Marvel.
The Hollywood Reporter didn't offer an explicit reason for Yeun's scrapped involvement in the film, though did reference Thunderbolts' delay which was caused by the writers and actors strikes of 2023 which effectively brought Hollywood to a standstill.
Thunderbolts will star the likes of David Harbour as Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Wyatt Russell's U.S. Agent, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes as a Suicide Squad-like, anti-Avengers team.
Yeun's role was never confirmed by Marvel but widely reported based on insider information before The Walking Dead creator Robert let slip Yeun was set to play Sentry.
The role will presumably be recast, though it's unclear if Sentry was a minor role intended to set up a larger project down the line or if Thunderbolts starred him as a leading figure.
