After numerous delays, it was confirmed at today's Disney Upfronts presentation that MCU series Ironheart will finally debut on Disney+ sometime in 2025 as a trailer was shown to ad-buyers at the event.

The trailer, we're sorry to say, hasn't been released online yet and didn't show much, but it did display some brief footage of Riri Williams' (Dominique Thorne) struggle to get her suit of armor built. And it does give us an idea of where the series might pick up in Riri's story: as a young student at MIT, we see her stealing various parts from around campus, and then getting booted from the institute for doing so.

For those familiar with the comics, that shouldn't be a huge surprise, as Riri's origin story has her leaving school after being confronted by the thefts. The rest of the trailer is, well, a couple of badass Ironheart suit shots.

Thorne and co-star Anthony Ramos took the stage at Upfronts to tease the footage.

"She's a student at MIT who builds her own version of an iconic superhero suit," Thorne began.

"Until things go completely wrong, and she meets my villainous character," Ramos continued. As confirmed at D23 2022, Ramos will be playing Parker Robbins, better known as the supervillain The Hood.

Thorne's portrayal of Riri was first introduced in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but we haven't seen the character in the MCU since then. The show was first revealed in 2020 as Disney unveiled a stacked lineup for its then-nascent streaming service.

The confirmation that Ironheart is finally debuting in 2025 might not immediately seem like major news, but the announcement holds further weight in light of comments from Disney CEO Bob Iger. As the company aims to rein in Marvel's output, Iger said at a recent earnings call that Disney will limit itself to no more than two MCU shows per year.

Elsewhere at the Upfront, it was also confirmed that the similarly long-awaited Daredevil: Born Again will debut in March 2025. If Disney sticks to Iger's comments, that means the only MCU shows released next year will be Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart.

WandaVision spinoff Agatha All Along, meanwhile, also got a release date of September 18, 2024.
