The classic 1992-1997 anime stems from Takeuchi's finished 1991-1997 manga series, originally titled Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon became such a popular franchise that it inspired licensed memorabilia that are now collectors' items today, like posable fashion dolls of the main cast, T-shirts, trading cards, video games, picture books, chapter books and even a 1999 roleplaying game.
