First airing in 1999, Futurama has survived multiple cancelations and channel hops to become one of the most emotionally resonant comedies of the 21st century. The futuristic cartoon has proven over the years to be capable of balancing good humor with romantic, tragic, and philosophical reflections on life, love, and the universe. At its best, it's one of the most unique and engaging shows on TV. Unfortunately, the latest episodes couldn't quite match that pedigree.
