My Adventures With Superman has certainly taken creative liberty with its villains, as seen with the new Intergang. They're more tech-based, with even Slade Wilson (pre-Deathstroke) having a much different aura to him as a black-ops agent. It therefore makes sense the cartoon wants to differentiate itself from previous comics, shows and films.
