The DC Extended Universe -- sometimes known as the Snyderverse -- is slowly taking its final lap. Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will more or less bring the curtain down, with the DC Universe ramping up production for a fresh reboot. The DCEU remains controversial but has its share of fierce defenders who appreciate its darker and more adult take on DC's heroes. Director Zack Snyder, who helmed the franchise's biggest projects, is generally credited with setting that tone.
