Loki Season 2 sees the Time Variance Authority divided as the Multiverse is unleashed. On the first season of the Disney+ MCU series, Tom Hiddleston's titular trickster god found himself at the mercy of the TVA who decreed he had deviated from the Sacred Timeline. The TVA existed to prevent any deviations from this singular timeline, pruning those who strayed from the established course of history, in order to avoid the outbreak of multiversal war. However, the season ended with the revelation that the TVA's leaders, the Time-Keepers, were a lie created by the time-traveling tyrant, He Who Remains.
