Even though she was in the MCU for ten years, Maria Hill got very little screen time, so fans were excited to see her in a new project. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios had other plans for her. Following her death in the first episode of Secret Invasion, fans are outraged. The MCU turned Maria's death into the catalyst for Nick Fury's rage in an unfortunate example of fridging, one of the most sexist tropes in comics. Additionally, it wasted good material by ignoring Hill's potential storylines from the comics.
