The Star Wars movie saga was launched back in May 1977 as an exciting, optimistic, space swashbuckler franchise with lovable heroes and exotic visuals. A New Hope, or Episode IV, began the franchise on a high note despite its dark scenes like Obi-Wan's sacrifice and the slaughter at Luke's moisture farm. Overall, A New Hope was a joyously bright and fun adventure, but then the saga started going in darker directions.
