By any account, the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was a rousing success. It retains the sense of upbeat optimism evinced by the first season while taking its characters in bold and unexpected directions. Considering how much Star Trek fans already know about many of its legacy characters, its narrative inventiveness has been nothing short of amazing: a strong sign for a franchise saying goodbye to two of its five streaming series.
