For a Disney film, Haunted Mansion certainly has its moments regarding horror. While the chills and thrills are tame because it's a kid's movie, the production's use of a ghost-ridden estate set in the outskirts of New Orleans undoubtedly makes it one of the beloved studio's more creepy outings. And its connection to the genre doesn't stop there, either. The premise around Jared Leto's vile character, Alistair Crump (the Hatbox Ghost), incidentally ties the narrative to another even more frightening horror movie: The Babadook.
