If you use an iPhone but you don't own an Apple Watch, you're missing out. Fortunately, right now Amazon is discounting the newest generation Apple Watches down to the lowest prices we've seen. This is a great opportunity for you to see why the Apple Watch is such a great tool to expand the functionality of your iPhone. You don't have to spend a lot of money either. The Apple Watch SE, for example, is currently only $169.99, the same cost as a pair of AirPods Pro. Check out the list of deals below and a rundown of each model.

The Best Prime Day Apple Watch Deals

The Best Apple Watch for Most People

The Apple Series 9 is currently the newest model available and it's at its lowest price ever today at $279.99. The biggest improvements of the Series 9 over its predecessors are the (1) 30% faster S9 processor, which is based on the A15 Bionic chip and (2) a brighter display that offers up to 2000 nits of brightness. Other improvements includes a longer 18 hour battery life, hand gesture recognition, faster Siri response times, and a Gen2 Ultra Wideband chip. It retains the best features from previous watches like the always-on Retina OLED display, rugged IP6X dust resistant and swimproof (to 50mm) casing, and a wealth of health features like ECG, blood oxygen, and heart rate meters.

If you use an iPhone, then the choice is a no brainer: the Apple Watch is far away the best smartwatch for iOS users. It looks great, it's chock full of useful features, and at this price, it's not even close to the most expensive watch on the block. There are other Apple Watch options out there like the SE and the Ultra, but in our opinion, the Series 9 (or earlier gen) is the watch that most people should opt for.

The Best Budget Apple Watch

Despite the considerably lower price tag of $169.99, you actually lose very little functionality if you opt for an Apple Watch SE. This second generation model features the same S8 processor found in the Apple Watch Series 8 and the origional Apple Watch Ultra. You also get a bright and sharp Retina OLED display, IPX7 water resistance, excellent activity and heart rate tracking, fall detection, sleep tracking, Apple Pay functionality, and more. You might not even notice any of the features that are missing.

The Best Apple Watch for Outdoor Sports

The second generation Apple Watch Ultra is on sale right now for $699.99, a savings of $100. The upgrades over the first gen model are a faster S9 processor, a significantly brighter display and the new Double Tap gesture support that's also available on the Apple Watch Series 9. Of these, the brighter display is the nicest perk, because the screen is even easier to read now in direct sunlight. The Apple Watch Ultra features a titanium case that's more rugged and corrosion resistent than the softer aluminum or stainless steel casing found in the less expensive Apple Watches. Pure titanium (not titanium "coated") metal is considerably more expensive and is probably one of the main reasons why the Apple Watch Ultra is so much pricier. The size of the case is also larger at 49mm (compared to 41mm-45mm for the Series 8) so it looks more substantial on your wrist. Other upgrades over the Apple Watch Series 9 include a more scratch resistant sapphire crystal face, a more precise dual-frequency GPS, beam-forming triple microphone array, dual speakers, up to 36 hours of battery life, up to 100m (300ft) of water resistance, a customizable physical action button next to the crown, and a built-in Oceanic+ app that literally puts a dive computer on your wrist.

Can you use an Apple Watch with Android phones?

Although it's technically possible to use an Apple Watch with an Android phone, we wouldn't recommend it. Apple made it so that a lot of the functionality of the Apple Watch requires a smartphone with an iOS operating system. There are some workarounds to implement some of the features, but for the average person, the hassle isn't worth it. If you're absolutely intent on getting an Apple Watch, then getting an iPhone first would be the best option. For those of you quite happy with your Android smarpthone, there are plenty of Android smartwatches that would be a better fit than the Apple Watch.
