In The Marvels, Brie Larson's Carol Danvers has to rally the troops in what's essentially a mini Avengers movie. She, along with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, are tasked with stopping the Kree rebel leader, Dar-Benn, from jumping through portals all over the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's a two-fold job, because they need to prevent her from draining planets of their resources to replenish Hala, which does shape a sympathetic villain.
