Emily Lopez meets her newest client Darlene, who recounts working for a plastic surgeon -- and trying to kill him with a tire iron, since he had been acquitted of sexually assaulting her. But as Emily explains, Judge Lola Carmichael has excluded any mention of the previous charges at trial. In the Hall of Justice lobby, Mark Callan and Maggie Palmer's relationship has thawed, but Maggie is not impressed by Dr. Vasquez and Mark is facing the blowback from his father Vic getting involved with an organized crime family: a felony DUI case on the docket involves a car owned by one of the family members.
