In large part due to many audience frustrations from Jar-Jar Binks to a large focus on political drama, Star Wars fans were disappointed with the prequel trilogy films. When George Lucas sold the franchise to Disney in 2012, there was a new hope that the same studio that helped expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe could work its magic and get the space saga back on track.
