Science fiction has been a popular genre in novels and pulp magazines since the turn of the 20th century and a part of movies as early as 1902's A Trip to the Moon. Since television, the science fiction genre has seemingly taken over with long-standing series like Star Trek and Doctor Who. While some appear not to understand or have an interest, longtime fans of the genre can see the potential and entertainment in telling a very human story under the guise of an adventurous space opera.
