Star Wars: Visions is nothing if not an opportunity for fans to see the franchise reinterpreted through the lens of unique storytellers. Now that formula is being applied to comics, as Marvel kicks off its own Star Wars: Visions series.

As with the animated series, Marvel's Star Wars: Visions will present various short stories in the Star Wars universe rendered in distinctive art styles. Kicking off the new series will be writer/artist Peach Momoko, who previously worked on the Star Wars: Darth Vader - Black, White & Red anthology series.

Check out the slideshow gallery below for a look at Momoko's stunning watercolor art for this issue:

Momoko's issue promises to offer new insight into the inner workings of the Sith. This story explores a Sith cult who worship a revered Sith Lord centuries after his death. A cultist named Ankok believes she may be the rightful heir to the Dark Side, but not everyone agrees.

“I wanted to tell a story about a cult. And I felt within the Star Wars universe, the Dark Side was something that ties to when a human, or something living, loses itself and then wants to rely on believing something in order to have hope to live,” Momoko told StarWars.com. “I believe falling to the Dark Side is nothing to be ashamed of. It could save you. Sometimes the dark side can help defeat your trauma and fear. In the story, Ankok’s belief is that the time when light defeats darkness has ended. It is the time to accept the darkness. And Tata is only using the Dark Side to help those who need a ‘dark light.’”

Star Wars: Visions #1 will be released on November 15, 2023.

In other comic book news, Jason Aaron is making his return to DC for Batman: Off-World, and Marvel just announced Wolverine: The Sabretooth War.
